The Day after "Broadcom VMware" - IaaS best choice

    Hi guys
As we all know, the acquisition of Broadcom is revolutionizing the VMware world and especially the partners (resellers and VCPPs).

We, as VCPP, are looking for IaaS solutions to "ferry" our services and customers.

The evaluation is based on solutions that allow you to offer IaaS services, with management and functionality of object storage and containers, which can be integrated/integrated with WHMCS (preferable) or HostBill (second choice).

    We are evaluating the following:
    - virtuozzo hybrid infrastructure
    - proxmox
    - opennebula

Ps. we would prefer to avoid virtuozzo because it has a very similar pricing model to VMware.

We would like to have your opinions, suggestions, feedback, experiences.

    thank you all

The whole industry is shaken by these acquisitions and the price hikes that follow them.

You didn't put SolsuVM 2 on that list. Have a look at them, too.

    Hello Mechanic

if I'm not mistaken it is designed for the sale and provisioning of VPS, it is not an IaaS solution as it is not possible to create virtual data centers or sell resources (cpu, memory, disk, network, etc..)

    Thanks for suggest

That was the case with SolusVM1. I believe SolusVM 2 has options to sell resources.

    virtuozzo is based on openstack
However, openstack, in addition to representing the hypervisor, does not offer a platform for selling IaaS services, to do so you need to use solutions such as Virtuozzo HI.

There are probably other solutions based on openstack, but I haven't found much..

Proxmox works like a charm, it has KVM, containers and CEPH in the box. It's simple and reliable, has API and there are modules in WHMCS marketplace. But it has limited number of components comparing to openstack, that could be not enough for running a modern cloud infrastructure platform.

@webstyler It worth to add on your list virtualizor. As a replacement of VMware that also have WHMCS integration, I believe that it's a strong choice.

It comes with all the features you want for end users and price is very competitive.

Please don't recommend Virtualizor, it has many bugs, code is outdated (PHP) and support team is lacking the technical skills. Also, it is not what OP is looking for.

For OP, in case your focus is on IaaS: I would recommend to set up a Proxmox cluster and do some testing, as it's free and is very flexible and stable too. It will satisfy your needs.
