Question How much do you dedicate to content creation?

Both in time and money/resources - how focused are you on content creation for your business? Do you see a positive return on your content, whether in leads or SEO? We've focused heavily on content/blog creation for the past couple years and have seen some good returns, but it seems to mainly be from a few pieces of content that are doing the heavy lifting.

Content creation should be an integral part of your business as it promotes brand awareness and increased leads. There will always be some content that does more heavy lifting, but it is possible to spread the wealth by thoughtful internal linking.

Am not sure if one can put a timeframe for content creation as at times one useful article or one useful guide can go way longer than publishing sub-standard multiple articles every day to simply create content without adding value.

Mostly content helps in two ways... To get more SEO traffic and to create awareness in the site visitors or your customers that the team running the company is knowledgable.

You should always devote enough time to content, whether it is 1-commercial or 2-informational

1.The page of a certain gadget will be similar to other pages because the characteristics and description are the same for all, and you should try to make the content of this page more unique and interesting...
    2. Knowledge, stories, information content of the page - should also have its own uniqueness and benefit for the guests of the page, hold the reader longer and lead to further interaction...
In two examples, success requires thinking through the content, which wastes time...

Creating marketing content is a crucial and necessary task. However, if minimal effort is put in, the results will reflect that. While we are in favor of automation where applicable, it shouldn't compromise quality.

We pay special attention to content creation. It's not just marketers writing or generating content; it's a collaborative effort involving our technical specialists as well.

We carefully select topics that have demand and provide reliable information, rather than marketing fluff for traffic.

Based on our experience, I can say that creating content takes a lot of time and money! But it's worth it!

Appreciate all the good insights and thoughts here! We have definitely fallen into the trap at times of quantity over quality, although sometimes a quickly put together post will still do surprisingly well.

But we have a huge wealth of knowledge on our team that I think we could do a better job of tapping into. Having SMEs in our org speak on a topic and then building from that is something we can and should do more of.

And now that AI has become ubiquitous there's even more content being published every day. We have to try and stand out from the crowd and be truly unique!

I believe 50% of every online business is its content production. I have seen positive returns, especially from key pieces that drive results in leads and SEO.

When you say content, it shouldn't be restricted to blog creation. We create content in many forms—blogs, case studies, whitepapers, ebooks, and social media posts. Yes, content creation takes a lot of time in research, making sure it provides a unique perspective to users, is appealing, and is SEO-friendly to rank high in the SERPs for the targeted keywords.

And once the content is created, we make sure we repurpose and distribute it on different platforms to maximize its reach.

Some content would do the heavy lifting, while some content would support it. It's not just about SEO value; it's also about establishing yourself as an expert in your industry. This is possible by creating unique articles around your customers' pain points, thought leadership articles, and being present online when users search for queries related to your niche.

It's a lon-term game, and we all know content is going to stay here forever. And it can be in any form.

    1. I use a tool called ahref to find popular keywords from my competitor's website.
    2. Then I outsource them to the SEO team for content creation. We usually aim for long/lenghty post like ultimate guides for the chosen topic.
    3. As you said, we also get only few content indexed higher on Google and generate good website traffic.
    4. Sometimes, simply using Google keyword suggestion tool, gives us great ideas for the new topics, and surprisingly they do great even after low search volume.

Blog content brought me lots of leads over time and some articles ended up ranking for the targeted keywords. It takes time though. I don't think it's feasible to try to get all the articles to bring the same amount of benefits, to put it that way. So the answer is - I dedicate lots of resources to content creation. And I'm fairly happy with how it performs, I'm trying to set realistic goals.

  11. I wouldn't spend too much time or money on it in my opinion.

You should be focused on your core business.

50% of every online business is content creation? That sounds crazy.

Try it out, if it works invest more time into it, if not try something else.

My experience with SEO is that Google values original texts as well as correct SEO photography on the website. I also worked on keywords and meta descriptions. As an effective SEO tool, I would recommend a blog on Google blogger with original text. Somehow it seems to me that a blog with original text on blogger is especially valued by the Google algorithm.

That's a tough question because the answer will definitely depend on the type of business and your goals. For me, content creation takes most of my time, but that's because I've seen some positive results with my ranking when I pay special attention to keywords but also add value to every piece (not just stuffing and mass production of random posts).

On the other hand, it's a long game to play, if I'm honest, and there might be some reason for ideas that others suggested, like being more practical with your time and resources spent on content creation.

One thing is for sure - repurpose your best performers to get as much out of them as possible.

content creation is extremely important for every business nowadays. For me its always about creating content that's help my prospects in their buyer's journey.

Along with that, may of us forget the power of content distribution. If you are not repurposing your content in different forms, you are leaving opportunities on the table.

I've spend a lot of time and budget creating content. It's a key part of my strategy, and only a tenth of our articles drive traffic.

From my point of view constant commitment is required for content creation, including time for planning, writing, editing, and research. Creativity, audience comprehension, and trend-following abilities are necessary for creating engaging content. Success depends on consistent posting schedules and prioritizing quality over quantity. Learning analytics to improve tactics and guarantee lon-term effects is another aspect of dedication.

We've been focusing a lot on content as well, especially for SEO, and have seen some returns but like you mentioned, it's usually a few key pieces driving most of the results. The challenge seems to be finding the right balance between consistent content creation and doubling down on what's already working. Have you tried updating or repurposing your top performing content to maximise its reach?

Interesting question. Over the past few years, I’ve experimented with many different formats, but I’ve never been able to pinpoint exactly what drives success. Sometimes it feels like you’re just writing into a bottomless pit, and then suddenly someone surfaces who read a short piece you wrote three years ago and remembered your name. I believe consistency in posting schedule and staying current are important, and that the real benefits often come indirectly.
