WHMCS Licensing Server Down | Caused any site using WHMCS to not load at all

Did anyone else notice this last night? I was looking everywhere. The site would not connect. I checked Imunify360 and Cloudflare, and everything was fine there.

Some mentions on Twitter/X about the WHMCS Licensing Server Down going down. It seems to have only affected some of their customers. That is why no one has mentioned it here.

    Nothing official from WHMCS yet.

    Hi all,
On 2nd September we experienced a high volume of traffic directed at our licensing infrastructure, this resulted in a degraded ability for the WHMCS software to perform the call home which is required periodically as part of normal license enforcement and when an installation's domain, IP or directory changes. Our system administration team immediately began to investigate the issue and take steps to mitigate the impact, with normal service restored by 19:00 UTC.

It is important to note that WHMCS is designed not to require always-on access to our licensing servers, through a series of caches and fall-backs, so that in such events your system continues to operate normally. If you were impacted by this event yesterday it is indicative of an underlying issue, and I encourage you to contact our support team so we can review and provide guidance.

A few months ago we had a weird issue with licensing, however we were not effected by this outage.
