HOSTAFRICA recently announced its acquisition of GO54, a major Nigerian competitor.

The deal combines 200,000 customers across the continent, positioning HOSTAFRICA as a dominant firm in the African web hosting market, according to Condia yesterday.

GO54 is formerly known as Whogohost and was founded in 2007. It offers web hosting, cloud hosting, reseller hosting, website protection and design, website backup and domain reseller APIs to over 130,000 customers.

Over the last 10 years GO54 has acquired cloud communications startup SendChamp, and Nigerian web hosting firms iHost Africa, and TheExpertHost.
