Alibaba Cloud has introduced a range of new support programs, infrastructure solutions, and advanced AI development tools to strengthen its global presence in the generative AI sector. These initiatives, announced at the company’s annual developer summit, aim to empower international developers and startups by providing scalable, cost-effective AI solutions that facilitate innovation across industries.

A major highlight is the expansion of Alibaba Cloud’s generative AI development platform, Model Studio, which now offers access to its latest proprietary large language models (LLMs), including the Qwen2.5 series with sizes ranging from 7 billion to 72 billion parameters. Developers can also leverage multimodal AI models such as the Qwen-Audio language model, the Wanx2.1 (Tongyi Wanxiang) visual generation model, and vision understanding models from the Qwen-VL series. The platform further includes Alibaba Cloud’s AI coding assistant, Tongyi Lingma, designed to enhance developer productivity with features like code completion, debugging, and optimization.

Additionally, Alibaba Cloud’s new Container Compute Service (ACS) will be globally available starting in January 2025. This platform integrates container services with cloud computing resources, optimizing workload deployment and reducing infrastructure management complexity. The ACS is expected to lower operational costs while enabling developers to focus on application innovation rather than backend infrastructure.
