We build our own servers using name brand components from vendors such as MA-Labs and Wintech.

Everything built from scratch...
A lot of our customers are hardware resellers, so we try to return the favor as much as possible and buy from them.
The remainder comes from good old Newegg.com!Cory von Wallenstein, Dynamic Network Services Inc.
My team and I spent the last few months putting together the DynDNS Spring Server VPS platform for folks needing IPv4 and IPv6 Linux servers on Xen. Would love feedback, both good and bad!

Depending on the situation, but most of the time through our computer supplier. We let them do what they do best and we do what we do best. Works out for the both of us and helps the economy

MA Labs, Wintech, Ingram Micro, Tech Data all are good sources if you have an account and good pricing level and/or a good rep.
Direct from manufacturer like Dell is good if you dont have the resources to assemble the components and need something setup fast.
If assembling in house and more than 10 servers, it may payoff to shop and source components from multiple vendors.
The advantage of single vendor sourcing is when it comes time for warranty or service, it comes from one place.
Good Luck.

www.apaqdigital.com for all your non name-brand (major vendor) hardware.
We only buy dell / hp and assemble supermicro systems, but Chong @ Apaq is definately the guy to talk to for supermicro gear.

We purchase HP DL145 G2s 10 at a time from CDW, and get great pricing on them. The stock model runs us just over a grand, and then we put in 4-16gb of memory from MALabs, and dual 250gb or 400gb sata disks, which we purchase 20 at a time for better discounts.
We've also started purchasing HP Procurve 2848 switches. The pricing is great, and the switches are awesome. with a 96gb backplane, we've tested 40gb/s worth of traffic through these switches with zero packet loss. Cisco's equivalently priced gigabit switches have something like a 12gb/s backplane.

Maxgoup.com and ewiz.com, between the two we get excellent pricing and good service, ewiz seems to always get the best deals on processors for some reason.

Hi!
Well...this is one of the best places I am aware of:
http://www.aberdeeninc.com
They have been in business for many years...and truly burn-in and test every server before shipment.

Rackmountmicro.com is suppose to be a good supplier. Their prices also seem to be reasonable. We'll be getting a couple systems from them in the next couple of months, so hopefully things go OK.
